Dermal Fillers
What are Dermal Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers, also known as hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, are one of the most popular facial rejuvenation treatments that we offer and are a highly effective anti-ageing treatment with instant results and virtually no down time.
Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.
By inserting small amounts of HA fillers into the relevant area, it can reverse the effects of aging – helping patients to achieve a youthful look. It is important to note that HA dermal fillers are not permanent. As it is a natural substance, the body will eventually absorb the fillers over a period of time.

Local anesthesia may also be applied on the skin to numb the treatment areas. Though the procedure is painless with topical anesthesia, as well as the fact that most modern fillers are already pre-mixed with a local aneasthetic (Lidocaine), mild discomfort may still be experienced.
The procedure normally takes a couple of minutes for each treatment site. The HA filler is injected into the area, and the area of treatment will be massaged. However, the time taken to complete the whole treatment will vary depending on the number of treatment sites.
